I’d hire you freelance again in a heartbeat. I always say, if you can truly add value, it doesn’t matter how old you are or how much experience you have…..there will always be opportunity. I always think that a young smart person with innovation and passion has as much, if not more value than a person with more experience but lacks the innovation.

I work in blogging and lifestyle writing so my situation is different, but I was around 24 when I started freelancing. And here’s the thing: I was freelance because I had to be. I wouldn’t change it now, but I could only get a few bits of freelance work – I couldn’t get hired by a large company because I didn’t have enough experience.

Freelancing is scary, and I think that’s what puts people off when they start out. If someone had offered me a full-time job two years ago, I’d have jumped at it. but if I’d have taken it, I wouldn’t be running my own website.

Freelancing is scary, but as options go it was the best thing i ever did. And yes, at the moment I’m working from the comfort of my bedroom with a cup of tea with a black and white film on in the background :-)
