No! Not a one!

Wtf? It was FREE people! Sheesh. Will try again later I guess… Not sure if this proves my point that Twitter might not be useful for everyone. I found there were very few schools on Twitter (especially career departments) that actually tweet. Meaning I need to take another route. LinkedIn maybe? Will see how the first workshop goes…

I think Twitter is useful for finding and sharing the latest information in specific niches. I live in China and am interested in renewable energy and microfinance (among other things!) Through Twitter I find and share information related to these specific fields and meet people with similar interests. One person I met this way ended up becoming my roommate and close friend :)

I’ve also started using Twitter more to publicize our corporate training services. Here’s our new company blog: http://www.beijingcorporatetraining.com/ This is a new experiment, and it’s too early to tell if it’s going to bring in more clients. I used Twitter to contact a well-known China-focused blogger who reacted to a post I wrote about his niche.

Also, Twitter is blocked here in China. I find that people who make the effort to use it put more energy into making the medium useful (rather than simply a place to broadcast what you had for breakfast.)

Overall: yes, I think it’s quite useful :)
