More Music For You! Anna Ternheim & “No, I Don’t Remember”

by Marian Schembari on August 12, 2010

Alright, so maybe my musical posts on this blog aren’t my most popular (the last one got something like 30 hits), but sharing my favorite tracks with you makes me super happy. So there.

Up this week is a recent discovery of mine, Anna Ternheim. While I found her album, Leaving On a Mayday (2008), to be a bit boring, No, I Don’t Remember is so freaking wonderful I had to share. I unfortunately couldn’t find a proper music video but it’s such a gorgeous track, so sit back and listen to one of my iTunes Most Played. I’d highly recommend turning up the volume, especially around the 1:20 mark – it’s just one of those songs.

My boyfriend says he’s noticed that my favorite songs “ache”. This is probably true, but I like to feel music in my achey soul. Sam, however, has excellent musical tastes and you should probably check out his blog (though he hasn’t updated recently).

What about you? What are your favorite “achey” songs?

Girl! You know I love your Music Posts. This song is beautiful. Favorite “achey” songs? So hard to pick! One of my favorite is “Nicest Thing” by Kate Nash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYWv_NSBZQI

As one of those 30 hits, I’m glad to see another music post.
And thanks since I hadn’t know about Anna Ternheim before.

An achey song a friend sent me because it’s got nice imagery is a B side by Iron & Wine called “The Trapeze Singer.”
“Ten minutes long!” I thought, “screw this song.” Eventually I listened to it over a drink, which was a perfect because I might have ignored a ten minute song’s words otherwise.

This song is amazing! I have never heard it before, so thanks for this :-)

I haven’t been listening to my “achey” music lately, but my most recent favorite in this category was “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri

I always want to leave comments on your posts but never feel like I have anything worth sharing. Today is different, wOOt! I drive the men in my house bat shit crazy cause I have a tendency to listen to songs on repeat for hours. I can’t seem to stop listening to Imogen Heap’s “The Moment I Said It”.

I couldn’t find an official video for it, and this Sims Machinima version was the only one that included an unedited song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmR3g6Za1LE
I actually found an a Capella version which was incredibly impressive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm_QHkXomLk

There’s one other song I had to share cause I’ve been playing it on repeat (and also cause I’m a total game nerd, lol) Not sure it’s achey but at least it’s a love song… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDBpQVhCMb8

Always looking for new music to write by. My favorite thing to do right now is to listen to “radio Mozart.” As you may have guessed, it’s a radio station. . all Mozart, all the time. Soothes the brain.
